AUSTIN, Texas: Xtensible, a SAM company, today announced the successful production deployment of the next phase of Ameren’s CIM-based Grid Network Model Management (GNMM) program supporting sub-transmission and distribution systems.
Xtensible led the design, implementation, and system integration of a production-grade CIM network model that now publishes directly to Ameren’s Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) and its distribution planning platform, Synergi Electric, leveraging AspenTech’s Cimphony network model management platform. With these integrations live in production, Ameren operates from a consistent and authoritative network model across planning and operational environments.
The phased GNMM program establishes a governed, enterprise-wide Common Information Model (CIM) framework that manages electric network models across the full digital lifecycle-from planning through operations and maintenance. This approach improves data quality, operational efficiency, and system reliability while strengthening alignment between real-time operations and long-term planning.
By integrating sub-transmission and distribution assets into a single, enterprise-grade digital representation of the electric network, the GNMM solution enhances situational awareness, supports more accurate planning and operational studies, streamlines model updates, and increases readiness for distributed energy resources, automation, and resiliency initiatives.
The GNMM program is a cornerstone of Ameren Distribution’s long-term digital grid strategy to build a more resilient, flexible, and customer-focused energy grid.
