New capabilities give businesses end-to-end control over video playback, branding, viewer journeys, commerce, and first-party performance data across their digital properties.

  • Fully branded video experiences without relying on third-party players or analytics tools.
  • AI-generated subtitles in more than 100 languages, helping teams make video content accessible to audiences worldwide.
  • Automatic chapter detection, enabling viewers to navigate directly to the sections most relevant to them.
  • Configurable playlists and recommendations, allowing teams to guide viewers from one video to the next while retaining complete control over what is suggested.
  • Shoppable video overlays, which let viewers discover and purchase products directly from the video experience.
  • Integrated video analytics, tracking more than 20 metrics across viewer engagement, quality of experience, and playback errors for every view.
  • NEWARK, Del.: #AI--ImageKit, a unified image and video API platform with integrated AI-powered digital asset management, today announced the launch of Video Player and Analytics. The release extends ImageKit’s Video API and DAM into an end-to-end solution spanning video management, optimization, delivery, streaming, and performance monitoring.

By bringing playback, delivery, and analytics into the same platform, ImageKit enables businesses to create fully branded video experiences across their digital properties without combining separate players, delivery services, and analytics tools. Organizations retain control over how video is presented, which content viewers see next, and how performance is measured.

The player supports adaptive streaming through HLS and MPEG-DASH and runs on the same global infrastructure that powers ImageKit’s image and video delivery, spanning more than 700 CDN nodes and seven processing regions worldwide.

The integrated analytics dashboard shows how viewers engage with each video, where they drop off, and which playback issues are affecting the experience. This gives product, content, and engineering teams a shared view of performance and helps them prioritize improvements based on their impact.

Performance data is first-party by design and collected directly through the player. It does not require third-party analytics integrations, cookies, or personally identifiable information by default.

“Third-party video players make it easy to publish video, but they often require businesses to compromise on brand control, content journeys, and access to performance data,” said Manu Chaudhary, CTO at ImageKit. “With ImageKit, organizations control how video is presented, what viewers see next, and how success is measured. By connecting engagement data with playback and quality signals, teams can understand where the experience succeeds or falls short and use those insights to improve their content, product experiences, and business outcomes over time.”

Key capabilities of ImageKit Video Player and Analytics

    AI-generated subtitles and chapters

ImageKit automatically generates subtitles in more than 100 languages, with word-level highlighting synchronized to playback to improve accessibility and comprehension. The player can also detect and create chapters automatically, while giving teams the option to define chapters manually by timestamp, making long-form content easier to explore.

    Playlists and recommendations

A scrollable playlist with previews and automatic progression helps viewers move naturally through a video library. Teams can also configure related-video recommendations at the end of playback, giving them control over what audiences see next and helping extend viewing sessions.

    Shoppable videos

Businesses can add product sidebars, timed highlights, and clickable hotspots directly within a video. Viewers can discover products, explore additional information, and take action without leaving the page, reducing friction between content engagement and conversion.

    Floating player and seek thumbnails

Videos can continue playing in a floating, corner-positioned window as viewers scroll through the page. Preview thumbnails on the seek bar also help viewers identify and jump to the right moment without having to search manually.

    Custom branding

Teams can add their own logo and destination link directly to the player, creating a consistent viewing experience that remains connected to their brand and digital property.

    Engagement and quality-of-experience analytics

The analytics dashboard brings audience engagement and playback performance together in a single view. Teams can track views, unique viewers, and total play time alongside quality-of-experience metrics such as page load time, player startup time, seek latency, and rebuffering.

Data can be filtered and grouped by viewer, device, geography, video, and playback characteristics. This helps organizations identify where engagement declines, isolate the conditions behind quality issues, and prioritize improvements based on their effect on viewers.

    Custom dimensions and error reporting

Teams can attach custom dimensions such as associated product ID, A/B test group, content category, and subscription tier to playback data. The analytics dashboard also captures errors automatically with code, message, context, and business exception classification, making it possible to trace a playback issue back to its cause.

With this launch, ImageKit now covers the full media stack. Teams create at scale with Creative Automation, manage media using natural-language prompts with DAM Agent, deliver it through the unified Image and Video API, and play and measure it natively with Video Player and Analytics.

"Video is becoming the way businesses teach, sell, and support, and the teams doing it best treat video as part of their product, not an afterthought," said Rahul Nanwani, CEO at ImageKit. "The goal with Video Player and Analytics is for teams to own the entire video experience, not just the file, and to know exactly how each video is performing for every viewer."
