LONDON: Ripjar, the provider of smarter screening and risk intelligence solutions, has appointed Conrad Nicholas as Chief Product Officer and Katie Miller as VP Marketing, strengthening its leadership team as demand accelerates for more efficient and intelligence-led customer screening technology.
Conrad will lead Ripjar’s product strategy and innovation roadmap while Katie will lead the global marketing strategy, both building Ripjar’s ability to enable financial institutions and enterprises to transform AML compliance and customer screening with explainable AI and a dynamic view of risk.
Conrad joins from Droit, where, as Head of Product for Pre-Trade Compliance, he led the product line through a period in which the company’s revenue doubled, ahead of its acquisition by FIS. Previously, he spent 12 years at UBS, most recently leading product for regulatory onboarding and data services, moving the function from reactive regulatory delivery to a product-led operating model. He began his career at Accenture, implementing vendor solutions in complex banking environments. Having sat on both the buying and building side of regulatory technology, Conrad brings first-hand insight into what financial institutions need from a screening platform and what it takes to deliver it at scale.
Katie brings more than 20 years of marketing experience. This includes over seven years at AML Analytics as Group Head of Marketing and Communications, spanning the financial crime, RegTech and supervisory technology sectors. She has worked directly with sanctions screening and transaction monitoring testing and validation solutions, selling to governments, financial intelligence units and regulators, giving her a strong blend of global marketing leadership and sector expertise to support Ripjar’s next phase of growth.
The appointments come as businesses face increasing regulatory pressure, fast-changing global sanctions regimes and multiplying adverse media risks. As a result, screening is evolving from manual, fragmented processes to scalable SaaS platforms with fully explainable AI.
Conrad Nicholas said: “Managing financial crime and reputational risk is becoming more complex, with growing adoption of AI among criminals, and I’ve experienced the challenges from different angles: as a bank deciding whether to build or buy, as a consultant implementing complex systems, and as a product leader creating technology that scales. Ripjar is already ahead of this market with its application of AI to improve screening accuracy and performance, its GCHQ heritage and a mission rooted in helping organisations make better, more defensible risk decisions. My focus is a roadmap that continues to turn that advantage into everyday value for customers, with explainability at the centre of how we build.”
Katie Miller said: “Ripjar has already built a strong global reputation among financial institutions and enterprises. The opportunity to further expand Ripjar’s market presence and deepen its engagement with customers globally is an exciting proposition. Joining alongside Conrad also creates a unique chance to align product and marketing closely from the outset. I’m excited to bring my financial crime, RegTech and global marketing experience to support Ripjar’s global expansion.”
Matt Mills, Chief Executive Officer of Ripjar, said: “Conrad and Katie join Ripjar at a crucial moment, following strong growth in our screening business that has seen annual recurring revenues increase by 40%. Their appointments strengthen our leadership team as we enter the next stage of evolution, including our expansion into markets such as the US, bringing together deep product expertise, sector insight and global marketing experience. Conrad’s background in building scalable, product-led platforms for complex regulatory environments and Katie’s proven track record in financial crime, RegTech and international go-to-market strategy will be invaluable as we continue to meet increasing demand for smarter screening solutions.”
