Patient and care facility portals recognized for connecting patients and their providers
SAN ANTONIO: SafeRide Health, a leading healthcare transportation company that uses technology to improve access to care, has received a Silver award in the 2026 Healthcare Innovation Impact Awards for its care facility-facing Care Portal and MySafeRide patient-facing portal. The award recognizes the impact the solutions have made in connecting patients to their healthcare, giving members, their caregivers and their care teams direct control over booking, tracking and verifying non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT).
"Transportation is a lifeline to essential care for many Medicare Advantage and Medicaid members, and we’ve invested to make it easy, efficient and compliant,” said Robbins Schrader, CEO and co-founder of SafeRide Health. “Our Care Portal and MySafeRide solutions put those steps directly in the hands of members, caregivers and care teams, and we’re honored that the Impact Awards have recognized that work.”
Across the United States, one in five people struggle with transportation insecurity and may delay or skip medical care as a result. SafeRide’s MySafeRide web portal and mobile app make it easier than ever for members and caregivers to schedule covered NEMT rides, track their benefits, monitor ride progress and contact support.
Provider organizations face the same historical friction as patients, including manual phone calls and eligibility checks. SafeRide’s Care Portal allows care facilities to book, modify and verify patient transportation in the same workflow as the appointment, drawing on the eligibility data in the platform. Among the first clinics and facilities to use the Care Portal, 88% preferred it to calling in, and 82% said it saved them time. For health plan partners, the portals move routine scheduling and eligibility questions out of the call center and give members and facilities self-service options.
The Healthcare Innovation Impact Awards, presented by Endeavor Business Media, recognize products, services and technologies that are advancing healthcare through innovation, measurable impact and real-world value.
Across its platform, SafeRide arranges more than 12 million rides a year across all 50 states, more than 60% of which support ongoing treatment such as dialysis, chemotherapy and prenatal care. The company delivers better than 99% ride fulfillment, 97.3% on-time performance and an average patient rating of 4.8 out of 5.
The award adds to a year of recognition for SafeRide, which marked its 10th anniversary in September and was recently named to Fast Company’s Best Workplaces for Innovators list and the 2026 Inc. 5000 list.
