Aruba, the largest Italian cloud provider and a leading company for data center and other services, joins Gaia-X Digital Clearing House, the network of executive nodes that assesses the compliance of companies with Gaia-X standards. Aruba will be one of two European "nodes" of Gaia-X, along with Germany's T-Systems.
The announcement comes from the Market-X Conference & Expo in Vienna held in mid-March, the networking event organized by Gaia-X to raise understanding of the association's standards and engage its community. Aruba is a "Day-1 member" of Gaia-X, with the goal of bringing a concrete contribution in the development of a a federated and secure data infrastructure at European level.
Gaia-X Digital Clearing House represents the necessary building block to make Gaia-X operational, as it is an external structure composed of territorially distributed and decentralized nodes that can support companies interested in benefiting from this federated digital ecosystem, helping them achieve compliance with the Association.
As is well known, Gaia-X was created with the intention of set up an interoperable and secure cloud, based on compliance with European standards in order to have a free and transparent circulation of data, avoid the risk of lock-in for companies and at the same time encourage the widest participation and competition among cloud solution providers, with a certification system of compliance that guarantees data protection. The project is open to all countries aiming to contribute to its growth and join as members.
"Becoming one of the nodes of Gaia-X represents a milestone for us. It is another essential step within the process that will allow us to support the execution of compliance services. Distributed and decentralized nodes, which are not directly managed by the Association, will become a reference point for achieving compliance with Gaia-X standards. And, as a result, our role will enable us to offer Aruba customers a direct gateway to the Association," said Fabrizio Garrone, Enterprise Solution Director at Aruba.
