Recognizing the innovation and flexibility of Object First’s ransomware-proof, backup storage with Absolute Immutability
DENVER: Object First, the ransomware-proof on-premises backup storage company, today announced that it has been highlighted for the third straight year by MES Computing, a brand of The Channel Company, on its 2026 MES Midmarket 100 list.
The annual MES Midmarket 100 recognizes technology vendors with deep knowledge of the unique IT needs of midmarket organizations. These vendors are committed to delivering future-focused products and services that support growth, innovation, and success for their midsize customers.
MES Computing defines midmarket organizations as those meeting at least three out of the following four criteria: annual revenue of between $50 million and $2 billion; 100 to 2,500 total supported users/seats; a 5- to 50-member IT staff; and an active IT budget exceeding $750,000. Vendors were selected for the MES Midmarket 100 based on their go-to-market strategy, their ability to innovate to better serve the midmarket, and the strength of their midmarket product portfolios.
Object First helps midmarket organizations strengthen resilience around a simple premise: assume breach and prepare for recovery. Object First Ootbi delivers secure, simple, and powerful backup storage for Veeam that's Absolutely Immutable, which means that no one-neither cybercriminals nor insiders-can alter the firmware, operating system, storage layer, or backup data. Ootbi’s flexible sizing (from 20 TB to 7 PB) allows teams to align capacity to real needs without overprovisioning. Object First also provides payment flexibility in the form of a Consumption model that removes concerns about delaying investment in data resilience.
“Ransomware targets backups 96% of the time, and for midmarket companies with lean IT teams and limited budgets, recovery means survival,” said David Bennett, CEO, Object First. “If attackers modify or erase backups, data recovery isn’t guaranteed. That’s why we designed the Ootbi solution with the midmarket in mind, so we can deliver enterprise-grade ransomware resilience at the right size, cost, and simplicity for midsize organizations.”
“The Midmarket 100 highlights the technology vendors that genuinely understand and actively champion the distinct needs of midsize organizations,” said Samara Lynn, senior editor of MES Computing at The Channel Company. “These companies are true partners, equipping midmarket IT teams to overcome their toughest challenges so they can innovate and accelerate growth. We’re excited to watch how these vendors continue to evolve and strengthen the midmarket ecosystem.”
This is one of several recognitions Object First has received from The Channel Company over the past year. The company was included in the 2026 CRN Partner Program Guide, which profiles 200 technology firms and serves as an essential resource for solution providers. Its Chief Operating Officer Kelly Wells, Head of Partner Marketing Meredith Frick, and Channel Marketing Manager Kasey King were recognized on CRN’s 2026 Women of the Channel list. Frick also placed on CRN’s 100 People You Don’t Know But Should in 2025 for her role in developing programs and processes to ensure that Object First’s partners succeed.
