Expanded role will support the company’s growth, technology advancements and strategic partnerships

TEMPLE, Texas: McLane Company Inc., one of the largest distributors in America and an industry-leading partner to the biggest retail and restaurant brands, today announced the promotion of Chris Smith to executive vice president and chief operating officer. Smith will support McLane’s growth strategy by leveraging resources and capabilities across McLane’s enterprise while continuing to lead McLane Retail.

As EVP and COO, Smith will continue reporting to Frankenberger and collaborate with McLane’s executive leadership team to advance the company’s technology transformation, including investments in AI and digital systems. His position will leverage resources across McLane’s three business units-retail, restaurant and Empire Distributors-as well as corporate functions and subsidiaries to optimize operations throughout McLane’s extensive nationwide network.
